Privacy Policy

We understand that uploading a resume or LinkedIn profile involves trust. Here is the short version upfront:

ProfileUp uses your uploaded or pasted profile content only to generate the diagnosis you requested. We do not use your content to train, fine-tune, or build AI models.

Because the diagnosis is generated with the help of an upstream AI provider, that provider's own privacy policy also applies to its processing of your content. The sections below explain what ProfileUp does, what is handled by third-party AI infrastructure, and why a previous report may still appear in your browser after you return.

What We Collect

Content you provide

  • The PDF / TXT file you upload, or the profile text you paste manually
  • The target role you enter for the diagnosis
  • The analysis result generated for you

Technical information collected automatically

  • Basic access logs, including IP address, browser type, and timestamp
  • Basic browser-side state needed for the tool to work

We do not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any directly identifying information unless you choose to contact us.

How We Use Your Information

Content you upload or paste is used to run your diagnosis. Here's what happens:

  1. You submit your profile content and target role.
  2. ProfileUp creates a temporary processing task on our server.
  3. The content is sent to an upstream AI provider for analysis.
  4. The analysis is returned to you.
  5. The temporary server-side task is deleted when processing completes or fails.
  6. The final report may be saved in your browser's local storage so you can reopen it without running the analysis again.

ProfileUp will not use your profile content for:

  • Model training or fine-tuning
  • Dataset construction
  • Sale or transfer to third parties
  • Any unrelated purpose outside the diagnosis you requested

This statement describes what ProfileUp does. It is not a promise on behalf of every upstream infrastructure provider. See the third-party AI section below.

Third-Party AI Processing

ProfileUp uses third-party AI infrastructure to generate profile diagnoses. Our current AI model provider is Claude by Anthropic.

  • All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS.
  • Anthropic's handling of data is governed by Anthropic's own privacy and service terms.
  • You can review Anthropic's privacy policy here: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy

We do not control Anthropic's internal systems, retention practices, or future policy changes. If you do not want a piece of information processed by an upstream AI provider, do not upload or paste that information into ProfileUp.

A practical note: Before uploading, feel free to remove anything you'd rather not share, such as phone numbers, ID numbers, or home addresses. The Tool does not need any of that to give you a useful diagnosis.

Data Retention

Why You May See an Old Report

If you return to ProfileUp and still see a previous diagnosis, that does not mean the uploaded profile is stored on ProfileUp's servers.

The final report is saved in your own browser's local storage for convenience. This allows the report page to reopen without forcing you to run the same analysis again.

To delete the locally saved report:

  1. Open the report or diagnosis card.
  2. Click Try Again or Run Again.
  3. You do not need to upload a new file. Entering the upload screen is enough to clear the locally saved report.

Cookies & Tracking

The Tool uses a minimal set of cookies, limited to:

  • Basic session functionality
  • Local browser storage for the most recent report
  • Anonymous usage analytics, if enabled in the future

You can disable cookies or clear site data through your browser settings. Doing so may remove your saved report and may affect some functionality.

Minors

This Tool is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Your Rights

Even though we do not retain your profile content, you retain the following rights regarding any technical data we hold:

  • Right to access - request information about what we hold related to you
  • Right to deletion - request removal of your data from our access logs
  • Right to object - raise concerns about how your data is handled

To exercise any of these rights, reach out using the contact details below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and post a notice on the homepage. Continued use of the Tool after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
